Chef Jason French and his team at NE MLK's wood-fired Ned Ludd will soon transform a space behind the restaurant into a communal gathering space featuring its own commercial kitchen: According to an announcement/just-launched Kickstarter campaign, Elder Hall (described as an "Oregon gathering space") will host cooking classes, a food-focused summer camp for kids, and a recurring series of "Small Suppers" featuring guest chefs.
According to French, the space's full commercial kitchen will allow the Ned Ludd team to host larger events, and a rendering of the space reveals room for 46 seats and a separate chef's table. The Kickstarter campaign hopes to raise $60,000. Projected opening: July 1.
