The Portland Development Commission has given the green-light to a proposal for Old Town's former Grove Hotel space: Naito Development and partners will build a 52-room hostel that will include a 5,000-square-foot ground floor restaurant and "speakeasy," plus a rooftop lounge. As previously reported, ChefStable submitted a proposal for the space that would've brought the Icelandic hostel KEX and a restaurant by chef Gunnar Gislason. [OregonLive]
