[Avila, 5/15/14]
Here now, a quick spin inside the west side location of Boke Bowl, which officially opened to the public two weeks ago inside the Alphabet District's brand-spanking-new Addy building. While Boke's flagship Water Avenue location — a long room with communal tables and mirrors hanging over two-tops — often evokes a cafeteria for adults, Boke West is comparatively light and airy. Buoyant string light fixtures hang from the ceiling, industrial bar shelves provide a see-through room divider, and on warm days, the floor-to-ceiling windows open up. Also: outdoor seating.
