More pop-ups, everybody: Chef Vitaly Paley (of his NW stalwart Paley's Place and downtown's Imperial) will soon launch a recurring pop-up series dedicated to the food he grew up eating in Belarus. Eat Beat reports that the monthly series DaNet will take over the Portland Penny Diner one night each month this summer (starting on June 12), offering an assortment of blini, dumplings, and other delicacies inspired by Paley's Russian roots.
Paley tells Eat Beat what to expect: "You'll will feel as if you've walked into a Russian time warp and my grandma's home all at once." Dinners will be $65 for five courses — not including wine or cocktails — and reservations are available now.
