NE Alberta's Bar Lolo Calls It Quits After Three Years

Alberta's casual tapas restaurant Bar Lolo has closed after three years in business. Co-owners Kate Verrill and Rick Barnes — who purchased the original Lolo restaurant and re-branded into Bar Lolo in September 2011 — announced the May 17 closure on both Facebook and Lolo's official site:

We would like to thank all of our regular customers for their support. We are currently developing plans to sell some of our sauces and other menu items in retail settings. Please contact us if you interested in purchasing items such as our bravas sauce, romesco sauce, sherry syrup, fig onion marmalade, chicken spice, or other items. We will be updating this website and our Facebook page as these plans develop.

In its short life as a Barcelona-inspired bar, Bar Lolo was best known for its wines on tap, sherry selection, and empanadas.
