Muddy's Coffeehouse Shutters, Oregon Deli Forthcoming

N. Mississippi's unassuming breakfast spot Muddy's Coffeehouse quietly closed up shop on May 18 after nearly nine years of serving stratas, sandwiches, and slices of quiche to neighborhood crowds. Taking over the charming space: Chris Degenhardt and Justin Wheeler, who plan to open the Oregon Deli Co. by mid-July.

According to its official website, the restaurant/deli will offer a menu of "seasonal soups, salads and sandwiches," plus breakfast muffins, house-made biscuits, and breakfast sandwiches. Degenhardt will also dish out "grab-and-go" items — potato, pasta, and quinoa salads (also available as side salads on the regular menu), pre-made pastas, and "tailgating packages." The Oregon Deli Co. tentatively plans a July 14 opening. Updates as they become available.
