Tucked into an Oregonian photo story about Shanghai soup dumplings comes this tidbit: Aviary chefs Jasper Shen, Kat Whitehead, and Sarah Pliner are currently planning to open a Chinese restaurant in Portland. The project is still in its exploratory stage — with no set location — but Shen tells the O to expect "a menu focused on more traditional Chinese dishes, ones Shen would eat at home or in his hometown Chicago's Chinatown." Also: Shanghai soup dumplings. More as it becomes available. [OregonLive]
