Salt & Straw's Booze Flavors; Cider Dinner at Harvester

MULTIPLE LOCATIONS— Cultishly beloved scoop shop Salt & Straw has announced its June line-up of specials, and while summer 2013 saw a collaboration between flavor-maker Tyler Malek and local breweries, this year's menu will transform cocktail recipes into frozen flavors. The "Summer Cocktail Ice Cream Series," which launches in all area scoop shops this Friday, May 30, features collaborations with bartenders like Brandon Wise (Imperial), Kyle Webster (Expatriate), and Evan Zimmerman (The Woodsman Tavern) to create flavors like Rhubarb & Saffron Champagne Cocktail and Strawberry & Verbena Pimm's Cup. CENTRAL EASTSIDE— Dedicated gluten-free brewery Harvester Brewing will host Washington's Finnriver Cider during a five-course pairing dinner tomorrow night (Wednesday, May 28). The $65 reservations net guests courses like an amaranth-walnut crisp with lentils and soft cheese (paired with a black currant cider) and black cod with chickpeas, morel mushrooms, and asparagus (paired with Finnriver's habañero cider).
