PAM's Art & Beer Event; DOC's Summer Menu Switchup

DOWNTOWN— The Portland Art Museum toasts Portland Beer Week with a special event pairing pours and paintings: Art & Beer: The Drunken Cobbler will bring five breweries — Widmer, Breakside Brewery, Ecliptic Brewing, Humble Brewing, and Laurelwood — into the museum to talk about Jean-Baptiste Greuze's 18th-century painting The Drunken Cobbler. Each will present a special beer inspired by the work, and guests will get to sample the brews, enjoying eight-ounce pours as they check out the museum's collection. Tickets are $12 and available here. [EaterWire]

CONCORDIA— For the summer, NE Portland's fine-dining DOC will switch to a tasting menu only format, designed per a press release to encourage "more creative menus and increased fluidity of service." Guests will be offered courses within each course (to create a "parallel menu" experience if desired), while larger parties can order a tasting menu served family style. More information here.
