Portland Cider Week Events; Diner En Blanc Portland

VARIOUS LOCATIONS— To accompany the Portland Cider Summit (which fetes June 20 and 21), several satellite events are proclaiming next week "Portland Cider Week." On the west side, Gracie's will host a $45, four-course pairing dinner with Reverend Nat's Cider on Monday, June 23, featuring courses like ginger and thyme-marinated pork loin (paired with Nat's Behold Deliverance Ginger Tonic). On the east, the SE Division location of St. Honoré will serve a five-course, $45 cider pairing dinner Thursday, June 26, offering courses like country pâté and chicken liver mousse (paired with a cider by EZ Orchard) and Alsatian tart flambee (with a pour by Nat's).

LOCATION UNKNOWN— The pop-up flash mob known as Diner En Blanc (during which dinner attendees converge upon a public space, wearing all white and bringing their own picnics) will return to Portland on July 26. Interested attendees must pre-register by June 27 (the fees total $40 per person); last year's event popped up in the Pearl's Jamison Square (to the chagrin of a few angry local residents). OLD TOWN— Reservations for the July slate of Holdfast Dining pop-ups will go on sale tonight (June 19) at 8p.m. This time around, chef Will Preisch and Joel Stocks will offer a different number of courses depending on the evening, including one blowout 19-course meal (with nine paired wines). These will sell out quickly; more information about specific menus and events here. [EaterWire]
