Celebrated chef/empire builder José Andrés has teamed up with Bend's Deschutes Brewery for a collaborative beer that'll be released later this year: The Washingtonian reports the DC-based chef, along with Deschutes founder Gary Fish, debuted the beer at last weekend's Aspen Food & Wine Classic. (In a Tweet announcing the collaboration, Andrés wrote that he visited Bend nearly 30 years ago, and the collaboration is "a dream come true."
Per the Washingtonian, Andrés's Zarabanda beer — named for a historic Spanish dance — is a saison-style beer featuring "flavors that Andrés loves and uses in his cooking, such as lemon verbena, pink peppercorns, sumac, and dried lime." The beer will hit store shelves in fall 2014.
