Iconic food cart the Whole Bowl will open its fifth Portland location — a diminutive brick-and-mortar restaurant — inside N. Vancouver Avenue's upcoming Radiator at One North building. According to a press release, owner Tali Ovadia will take a 496-square-foot space, building a prep kitchen (to help service her three food carts and SE Hawthorne location) and take-out window, serving her familiar vegetarian bowls filled with brown rice, beans, and fixins'.
The Whole Bowl, which started as a food cart back in 2001, currently has four locations: A permanent take-out counter on SE Hawthorne, and carts parked in the SW 9th and Alder pod, on NW 11th in the Pearl, and its newest location in the Hollywood District. The N. Vancouver location is aiming for a fall 2014 opening.
