Stumptown Dumplings Will Open Downtown Restaurant

Stumptown Dumplings, the NE Alberta food cart that debuted in May 2012, is opening its first brick-and-mortar restaurant. Co-owner Justin Prasad confirms he and partner Nimesh Dayal recently closed their take-out window on SE Ankeny, with plans to open a 25-seat, fast-casual restaurant in SW Madison Street's former Steamers Asian Bistro space. Expect a menu a expands beyond dumpings and bao, a full liquor license, and beers on tap as well as by the bottle. Per Prasad, the build-out will mimic the feel of "an indoor food cart experience."

Stumptown Dumplings will still operates its food cart on NE Alberta. Projected opening for the downtown restaurant: July 1.
