CONCORDIA— Francophiles will celebrate Bastille Day next Monday, and Kat LeSueur's recently renovated bistro Cocotte plans a special prix fixe menu for the French National Day, available July 14 through 16. The three-course menu offers a boudin blanc "burger" or vegetable cassoulet as the main course, finishing with an almond, lemon curd, and whipped cream crepe. Reservations are $38, with an optional glass of wine added for an additional $5. More information here. [EaterWire]
EAST BURNSIDE— British wine publication World of Fine Wine has bestowed E. Burnside's Pix Patisserie with an impressive accolade: Its 2014 edition of the "World's Best Wine List" names Cheryl Wakerhauser's dessert destination the "Best Champagne & Sparkling Wine List in the World." According to the judging panel, the distinction comes courtesy: "the sense that Wakerhauser has put her heart and soul into selecting her favorites... and prices even the most rare and rarefied of them without recourse to the excessive mark-ups that can mar the sale of Champagne in restaurants."
