Elephants Deli Expands Again; Food & Wine's Hot PDX

SOUTH WATERFRONT— Local deli/catering chainlet Elephants Delicatessen will open its eighth-area location inside the brand-new Collaborative Life Sciences Building at the Oregon Health & Science University. Details are scarce: The UrbanWorks blog announced the new Elephants location, along with a new Starbucks, will sit at the foot of the still-under-construction Tilikum Crossing. No word yet on how many square feet the Elephants spot will take up, or if it will be a full-sized deli or one of Elephants' "Flying," grab-and-go concepts. Updates as they become available. EVERYWHERE— Are these the 12 Hot New Places to Eat in Portland? According to Food & Wine magazine, yes: The magazine identifies spots like Davenport, Angel Face, and the Sugar Cube as must-visit restaurants for travelers. [F&W]

HOTTEST MEAT— Over on Eater National, the search to find the Hottest Piece of Meat in America has reached the Final Four: Steak vs. Salami and Fried Chicken vs. Bacon. Only one meat can win; voting will continue until Monday morning. Make your allegiances heard. [-EN-]
