Dime Store Brunches; Big-Ass Sandwiches Selling Cart

DOWNTOWN— At Dayna McErlean's "finer diner" the Dime Store, chef Claire Miller has launched weekend brunch service, with a menu takes a slight departure from the usual weekday breakfasts. There are no biscuits and gravy, but instead dishes like a French-style omelette, a take on eggs Benedict, and a "Boss-Lady's Breakfast," with braised greens, over-easy eggs, and sausage. And perhaps most crucially, this weekend's brunch menu sees Dime Store brunch cocktails entering the mix, including bloody Marys, mimosas, and Salty Dogs. Brunch is now available on Saturday and Sunday, from 9a.m. to 3p.m. [EaterWire]

N. MISSISSIPPI— Iconic food cart Big-Ass Sandwiches has placed its Mississippi Marketplace cart up for sale. Co-owner Lisa Wood says the cart, which debuted on N. Mississippi last November, will remain open for business until its sale. Big-Ass's Southeast location, meanwhile, "is going strong and will remain." More information here. [EaterWire]

NW/ALPHABET DISTRICT— Chef Marco Frattaroli will throw a celebration of Bisol prosecco during a fish-and-prosecco pairing dinner at his namesake NW restaurant this Thursday, July 17. Reservations to the five-course dinner are $65 and available by emailing here. [EaterWire]
