1. Northeast: A new Portland shop adds the superlatives "organic" and "local" to the world of frozen yogurt: Eb & Bean opened earlier this month on NE Broadway, eschewing the products from ubiquitous YoCream in favor of fro-yo made from locally sourced dairy. And unlike pay-by-the-ounce fro-yo shops, Eb & Bean's Elizabeth Nathan composes cups featuring six flavors (vanilla, chocolate, and "tart" are the everyday options, with current specials like marionberry and the dairy-free almond coconut). Toppings, like the yogurt, are locally sourced: salted caramel sauce features Jacobsen's Salt Co., granola is by Kim Boyce's Bakeshop, and orange cardamom caramel corn comes from Pinkletons. Hours of operation: 11:30a.m. to 10p.m, daily. More information here. [EaterWire]
2. Hawthorne: As promised, SE Hawthorne's Bar Dobre has officially morphed into the sandwich spot Stan'wiches, a sandwich concept by Dobre chef/owner Stan Pratnicki. A few elements remain the same: Porkstrami, the gruyere and caramelized onion Do'Burger, and Pratnicki's housemade smoked kielbasa all appear on the new menu, as do deep-fried cheese curds. New options include five vegetarian/vegan sandwiches, four new burgers, and buffalo wings. Hours of operation: noon to 7p.m. daily; more information here. [EaterWire]
3. North Portland: Atomic Pizza has made its move down N. Killingsworth official, taking over the space long home to DiPrima Dolci. At the new space (a major square footage upgrade from Atomic's former home on the same street), co-owner Jenna Forzley offers a menu of salads, calzones, hot sandwiches, and of course, a dozen specialty pizzas (in three sizes), plus pizza by the slice. Hours of operation: 11a.m. to 10p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. More here. [via OregonLive]
