Good Food Awards Market; McFadden at Meadowood

NORTHWEST— The NW location of Olympic Provisions will host its fellow 2014 Good Food Award winners during a "Night Market" event on Friday, July 18. Both local and visiting brands (like Finnriver Farm & Cidery and San Francisco's Mead and Mead's Maple Syrup) will be on-hand during the artisan market, and OP will provide the sausages for a beer and brats after-party. Entrance to the market is free; tickets to the beer and brats fest are $12 (including one sausage and beer). More information here. [EaterWire]

CALIFORNIA— As per annual tradition, Christ the chef Christopher Kostow's three-Michelin-starred Restaurant at Meadowood will welcome a dozen visiting chefs for its "12 Days of Christmas" dinner series, and the 2014 line-up features one Portland visitor: Joshua McFadden, of Roman Candle and Ava Gene's. McFadden's 12 Days dinner is scheduled for Friday, December 12, and he'll team with Napa's Kongsgaard Winery for the event. This year's charity beneficiary is the Holly Cranston Memorial Fund and the Napa Emergency Women's Services. More information here. [-EN-]

BOOK CLUB— The latest installment of Eater Library collects meaty cookbook recommendations from "meat master" chefs, and Ox's Greg Denton and Gabrielle Quinonez Denton both reveal their picks. Greg Denton gives props to Charlie Trotter's Seafood, which despite being a seafood cookbook, is "one of the most influential books about meat that I have ever read." [-EN-]
