UPDATE: The Woodsman Market Quietly Closes Up Shop, Hopes to Reopen by Winter

SE Division's Woodsman Market, the market companion to the Woodsman Tavern restaurant, quietly closed its doors last week. Though founder Duane Sorenson (of Stumptown fame) told Eater that the market is "just closing to go fishing," Woodsman Tavern manager Corrie Robinson confirms to WWeek that a new concept is planned for the space: "We're toying around with some concepts that will fit our brand."

The market opened in December 2011 — just weeks after the Woodsman Tavern's debut — and hoped to add a well-sourced neighborhood market to the block also home to Stumptown's original Division location. In an update published by WWeek Wednesday afternoon, Sorenson says the market plans to re-open this winter with the same name, "with a focus on more local producers and product" instead of its former global focus.
