Alert: Eater Portland Seeks New Editor. Is It You?

Attention, would-be Eater bloggers: effective this very second, we're looking for a Portland resident who's mainlined into the soul of the city's dining scene to take over the job of Eater Portland editor. Job duties will include reporting on openings, closings, staff shuffles, and all the drama that goes hand in hand with the PDX restaurant world. The ideal candidate has more than one year of experience covering restaurants and a knack for breaking news and uncovering stories. The editor will replace the fantastic Erin DeJesus, who's been steering the ship for the past four years (and for the last 12 months, has also been on the national news desk). She's moving within the Eater Universe, transitioning into a full-time role at Eater National.

Portlanders: This is a freelance gig with commensurate pay; you'll be able to work from anywhere you want so long as it keeps your ear close to ground for good restaurant and nightlife intel. If you think you fit the bill, drop an email to jobs@eater.com (subject line: Eater Portland editor) and include a brief description about yourself and a paragraph or two about why you're interested in the job. If you've got a blog or clips, please include links to them as well. Previous journalism experience is a major plus. No resumes, please. If we like what we see, we'll be in touch quickly. Thanks.
