Feastworks Delicatessen Now Open in Sellwood

Avila, 8/9/14]

Here, now, a look inside the newest addition to the Sellwood neighborhood, Feastworks Delicatessen and Catering, which officially opened its doors on July 31. Owners Ashley and Ethan Bisagna are no strangers to the culinary world: Ashley is a veteran of Seattle's acclaimed Herbfarm and Park Kitchen, and she was sous chef at Clyde Common. Ethan also worked at Clyde, Phil's Meat Market, and was the head butcher at Laurelhurst Market.

With their kitchen powers combined, they've been selling sandwiches, sausages, bacon, and pates at farmers markets around the area for five years (in Woodstock and Beaverton), and now you can find the same delicious options—and an expanded hot food menu—out of their brick-and-mortar location, as well. The space also serves as the hub for their catering company.

The deli and catering location on SE Tacoma Street used to be home to Subway. But gone are the days of assembly line hoagies, sneeze guards, plastic booths, and soggy lettuce. Here are the days of clean lines, wooden tables, mason jar pork rillettes and chicken liver mousse, slow roasted fennel-rubbed pork sandwiches with salsa verde and arugula, seasonal salads, and beer and wine by the glass. They're also offering breakfast fare in the form of hearty egg, meat, and cheese sandwiches on brioche. Feastworks Delicatessen and Catering is open Tuesday-Sunday from 8am to 8pm, closing an hour later at 9pm Friday and Saturday.
