After releasing its long list for the best new restaurants of 2014 last week, Bon Appetit reveals its legit Hot 10 today — and restaurant editor Andrew Knowlton has christened Kristen Murray's pastry luncheonette Maurice one of the best new dining options of the year. Maurice lands at #9 for being "earnest, a bit precious, and crazy charming," Knowlton writes, and he's particularly enamored with her desserts: "I would happily eat her lemon-soufflé pudding cake for breakfast. Every. Single. Morning."
Rose's Luxury in Washington, DC was named the Best Restaurant of the Year at #1 (visit Eater critic Bill Addison's review of Rose's here); nearby, Seattle's Westward lands at #5.
