Gourdet and Adams Competing on Top Chef Boston

Two Portland chefs will be among the cheftestapants competing on the upcoming Boston-set season of Top Chef: Gregory Gourdet (Departure) and Doug Adams (Imperial) will compete on the long-running Bravo culinary competition. The duo will compete against chefs like Atlanta's Ron Eyester (of the soon-to-open Diner) and Los Angeles' Mei Lin (of ink).

In an early promo clip, Gourdet opens the segment — saying "Top Chef brings out another side of you" — but Adams appears several times, seemingly earning high praise from head judge Tom Colicchio. (Other challenges this season include cooking a complete Thanksgiving dinner, serving a meal at Fenway Park, and the return of Restaurant Wars.) Not counting the separate spin-off Top Chef Masters, Gourdet and Adams are the first PDX contestants to represent on the show, which is entering its 12th season.
