The McMenamins chain of breweries, pubs, movie theaters, and hotels is now $6.3 million richer after its first round of soliciting outside funds: The Portland Business Journal reports brothers Mike and Brian McMenamin have closed deals with 23 new investors. The round of funding marked the first-ever solicitation of outside funds by the family-operated group, which was specifically seeking $8 million for a new project in Bothell, Washington.
It's been a busy few months for McMenamins: Earlier this summer, its Edgefield property officially added 65 acres to its site after purchasing adjacent land from the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners (price tag: $3.2 million). The Bothell project, called the Anderson School, has a projected price tag of $26 million.
