Congratulations, Los Angeles: You're getting a Pok Pok. Rumors swirled earlier this week that chef/empire builder Andy Ricker was eyeing a Chinatown location for an LA outpost of his iconic Thai restaurant, and now, official confirmation that Ricker will open not just a Pok Pok LA, but also an outpost of Pok Pok Phat Thai, his NYC noodle house.
According to the LA Times, Pok Pok LA will feature two floors, with a bar and lounge downstairs and the main dining room upstairs. Pok Pok Phat Thai will open nearby in the Far East Plaza, which also houses Roy Choi's Chego. Pok Pok Phat Thai may debut in LA as soon as November; Pok Pok LA should open its doors next spring.
