naturalgrocers.jpgAccording to the city, the vacant lot on Northeast MLK and Alberta that was supposed to house a Trader Joe's will now be home to Natural Grocers. The Colorado-based chain with three Portland metro stores might actually be a better fit for the area: prices for its organic, locally grown produce are comparable to conventional produce at local supermarkets, and it will offer cooking classes and a free, on-site, credentialed nutritional health coach. Construction is expected to start in 2015. —Danielle Centoni [Portandoregon.gov]
