After sitting unoccupied for almost a full year, the Fratelli space looks to be getting a new tenant.
We recently found out chef Francesco Inguaggiato, a native of Sicily, has leased the space and plans to carry on the Italian tradition with a Sicilian-focused small plates restaurant. Expect bold flavors and seafood in dishes like grilled octopus, caponata and pizzette. Inguaggiato currently lives in Texas where he owns two Italian restaurants. Married with kids, he says he chose to relocate his family to Portland because it's a liveable city with a strong food scene that will give him the adventurous audience he needs to cook the dishes he craves.
Inguaggiato plans to open his still-to-be-named restaurant by February or March 2015. More details as they become available.
