Cook Like a Local: Inside The Portlandia Cookbook

Because "everything should be pickled," IFC and Clarkson Potter have teamed with Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein to unleash the The Portlandia Cookbook, an accompaniment to the popular locavore-skewering show. (It's not to be confused with the Portlandia Activity Book, which came out earlier this year.) The book "collects recipes" from Portlandia's cast of characters, leading to legitimate recipes (like a butterflied, cult-raised chicken roasted over bread) and jokey guides (like the mixologist's guide to ice).

There's also an online menu generator, where the plats du jour include Portland-y dishes like "toasted foie gras served on a skewer in a aubergine and salsa verde." The Portlandia Cookbook hits shelves on October 28.
