The Food Network has a healthy dose of Portland this week.
Tonight, Oven and Shaker's chef de cuisine Jun Robles gets a turn on Chopped. Unfortunately for him, the episode is themed "Money Saver."
In keeping with the show's format, he and the three other competing chefs will be given a basket of secret ingredients with which they will have to prepare dishes that can impress the celebrity-chef judges. But this time the ingredients in each basket won't exceed a measly $10. There will be "ham steaks." There will be chocolate chips. And there won't be a whole lot else.
If you want to see who can best channel their starving student days, the episode airs tonight at 10 p.m. on the Food Network.
And this Saturday, you can catch Podnah's Pit in a re-broadcast of a new Food Network series titled Best. Ever., which, like Chopped, is also hosted by Ted Allen. Each episode in the series highlights the nation's best eats in iconic categories like pizza, hamburgers, and barbecue. You can guess which one Podnah's appears in. The Best. BBQ. Ever. episode airs twice this weekend: Saturday Jan. 17 at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m. on the Food Network.
