Learn How to Shuck Oysters While Sipping Champagne

If you've ever wanted to hone your shucking prowess, or simply want slurp your fill of $1 oysters like they do on the East Coast, Foster's Craft Cooking says, "Go Shuck Yourself."

On Saturday, Jan. 17 from 3 to 5 p.m., Jaret Foster is hosting the "School of Oysters: Go Shuck Yourself" class at Ambonnay wine bar. Instead of his usual Oyster Social pop-up where he does all the shucking for you, he'll teach you the finer points of proper technique so you can do it yourself. With oysters on the half shell averaging $3 a pop at restaurants around town, buying and shucking your own just makes sense.

During the class you'll get half a dozen oysters, three sparkling wine pairings, plus an oyster knife. The class costs $65 per person. Tickets are available here.
