Bird + Bear, sister restaurant to the Toast brunch spot and the Yolk food cart in Woodstock, has put an end to its lunch service. Reaching Eater by email, owner Donald Kotler says he expects to bring back lunch "sometime down the road," but for now, no more fried mortadella sandwiches and bowls of lamb stew until the restaurant opens for dinner at 4 p.m. "Dinner seems to be doing better than we expected and lunch didn't seem to hit the mark we hoped for," says Kotler. He adds that Bird + Bear may soon be open for dinner Mondays, too. The restaurant's current hours are 4 to 10 p.m., Wednesday to Sunday.
