Drink This, Eater Cocktail Week Is Almost Over: White Owl's Funeralapplos

Made by metalheads for metalheads (but everyone else will probably like it, too).

White Owl serves up a heavy-metal edge for the mosh-pit trained and the casual headbanger alike, and accordingly, the final Drink This special for Eater Cocktail Week was inspired by a song by doom rockers Electric Wizard called Funeralapplos. Made by Brian Oakley, the Funeralapplos cocktail features Old Overholt rye whiskey, Lairds Applejack Brandy, Dolin sweet vermouth, and a house-made hibiscus syrup made with Steven Smith's Big Hibiscus tea.

"It's kind of a riff on the New Orleans classic cocktail, the Vieux Carre," says Oakley. "Brandon Josie from Interurban first introduced me to the idea of substituting apple brandy for cognac. With the hibiscus instead of Benedictine, the cocktail has more of a light fall flavor while still being full and boozy."

Get this potent but smooth cocktail for just $8 at White Owl Social Club today, because just like Eater Cocktail Cocktail, it's all over after tonight.
