If you're an Amazon Prime Now subscriber, you'll be able to have your dinner delivered to you in under an hour, provided that you live in one of the company's selected zip codes.
The program starts today—less than two weeks after Amazon launched a pilot program in its home city of Seattle—and Amazon Restaurants General Manager Gus Lopez says the company will continue adding local restaurants (and zip codes) over the next several weeks.
Among the 50-plus restaurants they've already signed up are Pok Pok, Sizzle Pie, Waffle Window, Luc Lac Vietnamese Kitchen, Habibi, East India Co., and Kim Jong Grillin.
Zip codes (for now) include 97204, 97208, 97209, 97212, 97214, and 97232.
What to expect:
- Your choice of two dozen-plus delivery options at any given time
- Delivery that's limited to quality restaurants
- Wait times of less than an hour (Amazon says deliveries are averaging about 39 minutes in Seattle)
- The ability to watch in real time your delivery driver as he or she makes it toward your home
Delivery via Prime Now is free for current subscribers (although restaurant delivery is limited to those select zip codes, for now). The service runs you $99 a year, but that gets you not only free delivery, but free one-hour delivery on pretty much anything you want to buy.
