Yesterday, we got an email from the folks who run SE Hawthorne's Pastaworks, who are collaborating in the soon-to-open Providore Fine Foods Market. It read:
After much consideration, Pastaworks will be relocating to Providore Fine Foods in January of 2016. "The transition will be bittersweet since we have three decades of memories in the original location," said Kevin de Garmo. "But, we are all eager to share the new space with some of Portland's exciting food purveyors and offer our customers a fantastic shopping experience including eat-in dining options, an event space for wine tastings, cooking classes and food-related events...and more parking!" Nodoguro, the acclaimed Japanese restaurant will remain in its current location at 3735 SE Hawthorne Blvd.
But as Michael Russell at The Oregonian pointed out yesterday, Ryan Roadhouse's Nodoguro, Portland Monthly's 2015 Restaurant of the Year, might not stay in the building after all.
Russell quoted Roadhouse as saying he was aiming to try to stay put, but that in the end, he may find himself in the position of seeking out a new home.
Last month, we reported that the market was being built out, and that it would soon be home to Flying Fish Co., florist Emerald Petals and Arrosto, Pastaworks' upcoming rotisserie chicken spot.
Stay tuned.
