NORTHWEST -- Olympia Provision's cookbook, Olympia Provisions: Cured Meats and Tales from an American Charcuterie, hits shelves tomorrow, and to celebrate this ode to artisan meat making, the Northwest location of Olympia Provisions is throwing a bash on Sunday, November 1. The meal will focus on Swiss recipes that almost appeared in the cookbook, and tickets are available for $135 (includes wine pairings and gratuity). [EaterWire]

NORTHEAST -- Tapalaya is updating its voodoo doll wall, where effigies of its friends and family members hang appropriately pinned for protection, good luck, and positive energy. You can join in the fun this Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), November 2, when a voodoo-doll-making table will be open to all during happy hour and dinner service. [EaterWire]

BEAVERTON -- Located on Beaverton's SW Hall Boulevard, Hall Street Grill, sister restaurant to the Pearl's Oba, will be closed from October 25 through November 1 for a bar renovation. You can get back to drinking its well-priced cocktails with lunch on November 2. [EaterWire]
