Owner of Bunk, Tommy Habetz is stepping away from sandwiches toward pizza pies and pastas, and you'll be able to check out Pizza Jerk as soon as the second week of November. Located at 5028 NE 42nd Ave., Pizza Jerk will feature the talents of both Habetz and chef J.B. Tranholm (Pok Pok, Castagna), and the pizzas won't be pigeonholed: Expect Italian pies, Hawaiian pies, and everything in between, including New England clam pies and Detroit-style deep dish.
As for the other menu items, Habetz will offer spaghetti and meatballs and cacio e pepe, and interestingly, he has also devised a fusion of Italian and Chinese cuisines to make a pasta and fried rice. Additionally, Pizza Jerk may offer soft-serve ice cream in some form or other. The space will seat 30 to 40 and will also have a take-out window. (And if you haven't already, check out the official Pizza Jerk website for some of the zaniest digital graphics this side of Y2K).
