Beaujolais Nouveau at St. Jack; Fête de Macaron at Pix Pâtisserie

LEVANT—Chef Scott Snyder is teaming up with Smallwares' Johanna Ware tomorrow night for a 4-course Israeli-Asian fusion mashup dinner, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Snyder's Levant. The collaborative dinner costs $45, or $60 with wine pairings. To RSVP, dial up Levant at 503.954.2322.

ST. JACK—Chef Aaron Barnett is closing down the block adjacent to St. Jack, from 6 to 10 p.m. on Thursday night, to celebrate a gang of winemakers who'll be on hand to savor this year's batch of Beaujolais Nouveau. The block party will also feature snacks by Justin Woodward (Castagna), Cathy Whims (Nostrana), Rick Gencarelli (Lardo) and Roscoe Roberson (Coopers Hall). Tickets are $35, and $40 the day of. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Portland Kitchen, which teaches cooking techniques to local teenagers. PIX PÂTISSERIE—From 2 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, November 28, you're invited to come marvel at—and eat—the 30 different flavors at macarons gracing Pix's pastry case. Each little cookie will run you $2.25, but you'll be treated to one on the house if you participate in the cupcake stomp (which is exactly as it sounds, so bring your stomping boots).
