Having officially opened this past Friday at 5028 NE 42nd Ave., Pizza Jerk brings a classic East Coast pizza-joint vibe to a tasty stretch of Northeast near Old Salt Marketplace. Straight-up—is there anything more classic than red-and-white-checkered tablecloths? Add punk rock posters, stained-glass hanging lamps, and wooden booths, and Pizza Jerk makes you feel as though you just walked into Hartford, Connecticut.
Check out the menu here, overseen by owner Tommy Habetz of Bunk Sandwiches and chef J.B. Tranholm (Pok Pok, Castagna). Pizza Jerk is now open nightly beginning at 4:30 p.m. for your pizza-munching pleasure. Build-your-own pizzas, pizza styles from around the nation, and a few salads and pastas are available. The rumored soft serve ice cream has yet to arrive.
