Evoking surprise and disbelief across the city, Grüner announced in October it's closing its doors after New Year's Eve. (And not only that, but that it's making way for SuperBite, a concept from the owners of Ox). The Alpine-inspired restaurant by Chris Israel opened in 2009, and as the menu below shows, Grüner's last meal will be fit for any hungry Bohemian coming in from the cold.
Looking for schokoladenkuchen? You got it. How about foie gras ravioli? And which do you prefer: The Buckwheat Spatzle with duck confit, hen-of-the-woods mushrooms, and turnips, or the Choucroute Garni, which comes with stuffed pork tenderloin, smoked saucissons, sauteed pork sweetbreads, and hard cider-braised apfelkraut?
Grüner's last dinner service will feature the four-course prix fixe menu with the many options below, with seatings between 5 and 9:45 p.m., December 31, 2015. Make your reservation early using OpenTable or Grüner's website. The bar will also be open, serving a small a la carte menu.
