It has opened a month later than he told us back in October, but Nate Higgins' fresh-pressed juice mini-empire now has a third location, joining the original on SE Hawthorne, and a two-year-old outpost Downtown.
K3 is located in the SE Industrial waterfront area, next to Hair of the Dog brewing, in the newly renovated building now anchored by Cargo. It's just a quick jaunt off the Eastbank Esplanade bike/pedestrian path, which, if you ask us, is a stroke of genius.
Higgins has told us his new commissary kitchen on MLK Boulevard will allow him to expand the menu at all Kure locations. In the very near future expect grab-and-go salads, wraps, and herbal tonics, plus savory bowls and desserts like cashew milk gelato.
Higgins is fully committed to spreading his phyto-nutrient gospel. There's a seasonal cart at the Moda Center and, come spring, he'll open a flagship in the West End, in the same building as Bamboo Izakaya's second location.
And he's making it just as easy to order and buy Kure's healthy fare as it is to buy Starbucks. The new Kure mobile ordering app for both iPhone and Android allows you to order and pay right from your phone.
Kure Juice Bar #3: 77 SE Yamhill Ave., Portland. Hours: This week Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Next week hours expand to include Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Come March, they'll keep the doors open until 6 p.m.
