The Pearl's Brewery Blocks are now, actually, full of breweries.

Rumor has it that as long as the remaining permits are approved as expected, Bend-based 10 Barrel Brewing will finally open the doors to its Portland brewpub on Monday, March 16, in the Pearl District spot formerly home to Mellow Mushroom pizza. When it does open, it'll join Fat Head's, Deschutes, and Henry's Tavern to make the Pearl District's old Brewery Blocks a literal description of the area.

The space is kitted out with an industrial vibe similar to the Boise pub, including exposed beams and custom wood-and-metal furniture created by an in-house team. And there's an open view into the brewing area so guests can see the brewers in action. The menu, described as elevated pub food, is similar as well. Think pesto, chicken and prosciutto pizzas and gorgonzola steak nachos.

On the 22 taps you'll find 10 Barrel's year-round staples, as well as more innovative and seasonal releases from Whitney Burnside, the Portland pub's head brewer who was lured over from Pelican Pub in November.

10 Barrel Brewing: 1411 N.W. Flanders St., Portland. Hours: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.
