Chopsticks Karoake Finds New Home on NE Sandy Boulevard

It's heading to the space formerly occupied by Mynt and Diamonds strip clubs.

Last fall, we got news that karoake joint Chopsticks II (aka Chopsticks Express) was losing its lease this August after 20 years in the same East Burnside location. But Willamette Week reports that the beloved dive has found a new home.

Owner David Chow, whose smiling visage and puzzling "How Can Be?" tagline adorn the sign at his other Chopsticks location on NE Columbia Blvd., says he's found a new location just a mile away on NE 33rd and Sandy Blvd. The location was formerly Mynt and then Diamonds strip clubs. Although Karaoke seems like a vast improvement for the Laurelhurst residents nearby, the neighborhood association may contest the move. Chow says if he can come to an agreement with neighbors and secure OLCC and city approval, he'll move by June or July.
