Take a Look Inside Chizu, Opening Monday March 16

The paper's off the windows and the good-luck cranes are flying high.

Steve Jones is ready to bring you Chizu, his tiny 450-square-foot storefront next to Multnomah Whiskey Library, where you can choose your own cheese adventure. He's picking out 30 special cheeses to showcase behind glass along the 11-seat bar. Just tick off the ones you want and any accompaniments from the sushi-style ordering card. Or order omakase and let the experts surprise you. To drink, there's a selection of carefully selected beer, wine, cider, and sake by the bottle and glass. The small space is a serene pit stop for Downtown office workers, shoppers, and anyone looking for a place to relax for a bit with perfectly paired snack.

Chizu (opening March 15): 1126 SW Alder St., Portland. Hours will be Sunday through Wednesday 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday through Saturday 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
