The wait is finally over. Bend-based 10 Barrel Brewing finally opens its doors at 11 a.m. today, after several months of delays. Taking over the former Mellow Mushroom spot in the Pearl District, the 6,229-square-foot space has seating for 175, which will expand in the summer when they open up rooftop seating.
The interior has the same kind of renovated industrial feel as the Boise location, with furniture welded and crafted by an in-house team. The menu is similar to the Boise and Bend locations, as well, with "elevated pub food" like charcuterie with pickled vegetables, gorgonzola steak nachos, seasonal salads, hand-ground burgers with house-smoked bacon, and fully loaded pizzas.
The Portland pub's head brewer, Whitney Burnside, will concentrate brewing inventive one-off and seasonal beers that will mostly be available only at the pub. Filling out the 20 taps will be year-round and limited release beers from the Bend and Boise breweries.
The 10 Barrel Portland hours: Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; Friday and Saturdays 11 a.m. to Midnight.
