In January, Downtown's Hotel Vintage Plaza took a two-month hiatus to get a full interior overhaul, and today it reopens with a new look, a new name and a new bar. Now dubbed the Hotel Vintage-Portland, with urbane guest rooms named for Oregon wineries like Adelsheim and Love & Squalor (all of whom will pour wines at hosted "wine hour" events several times a year), the hotel now sports a new two-floor lobby next to Pazzo Ristorante with a new watering hole called Bacchus Bar.
Bacchus has 60 seats (10 at the bar), plus a second-floor adult game room with a pool table and shuffle board, as well as a video game center equipped with Atari, Playstation, and Xbox. The bar menu is served in both areas and includes small plates like fried clams with caper aioli, and larger plates like burgers and grilled shrimp with polenta. The bar is open daily from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Happy hour is from 4-6 p.m. and offers all food at half price.
