There's a new wrinkle to yesterday's news that a woman is suing Enzo's Caffe Italiano in Northeast Alberta for $100,000 because she says they treated her rudely when she attempted to dine alone on Valentine's Day. Although her lawsuit makes no mention of racism, Kathleen Hampton, who is representing herself, told KOIN-TV last night that she thinks the bad service she experienced was race-related. "I didn’t fit their decor in there," Hampton says in the broadcast, which you can watch below. "I was the only African American." Restaurant owner Enzo Lanzadoro, a native of Italy, denies all the allegations, saying he employs and serves people of all races at his restaurant.
