In just two weeks, the old Fratelli space will finally welcome diners again after sitting vacant since the 15-year-old Italian restaurant shuttered in November 2013.

On April 14, Sicilian chef and restaurateur Francesco Inguaggiato is bringing Italian food back to the prime Pearl District location, opening Bellino Trattoria Siciliana with a menu centered on the kinds of traditional Italian dishes he grew up with in his grandfather's trattoria in Palermo. There will be caponata, of course, as well as lesser-known specialties like cacio all'Argentiera, which is Caciocavallo cheese grilled in a balsamic vinegar reduction topped with fresh oregano and served on bruschetta. You can also expect Sicilian seafood stews, grilled fish, pastas, and small plates like arancini, crocchette and panelle (fried garbanzo bean fritters). Dishes will be available a la carte, or as part of a rotating four-course tasting menu. To drink, expect a laser focus on Italian wines, plus local beers and a full bar.

The 2,200-square-foot space seats 48, not including the bar, and will be open for lunch, dinner and happy hour from Tuesday through Saturday.
