Chef Alex Yoder took the reins at Olympia Provisions' Southeast restaurant when Jason Barwikowski departed way back in 2010. Now the Northwest native, who has worked as a sous chef in the kitchens of Cafe Castagna and Clyde Common, will serve as executive chef of the company's Northwest restaurant, too.
He's taking over for Colin Stafford, who was the chef at the NW location from 2011 until his departure in January. According to Eat Beat, Stafford has moved to McMinnville, where he will serve as the chef at two new restaurants located inside the KAOS building at 645 NE 3rd Street: The Barberry (a bistro by day and steakhouse at night) and The 1882 Grille bar and grill. Both restaurants are expected to open in May.
Meanwhile, Yoder plans to keep the menus at both OP locations separate, but you can count on him to put his Mediterranean-inspired stamp on the NW outpost. There's already a pork cheek cacciatore, and salsa verde alongside the rotisserie chicken. And both restaurants are now open for dinner every day.
