Quirky, vaguely pirate-themed Salvadore Molly's, best-known for its spicy tamales, habanero fritters, and other Caribbean/South American/African dishes, opened a spinoff Roadhouse and Tiki Garden on SE Milwaukie last June. It promised a foray into Asian-inspired plates, a tiki-themed outdoor patio, to-go window and late night hours. But by winter it was already closed for "repairs and retooling." The plan, according to the restaurant's website, was to reopen in April. But, alas, the shutter is permanent. The restaurant posted this notice on its Facebook page yesterday:
"Dear Friends and Neighbors,.
We’re sorry to announce that our Roadhouse location of Salvador Molly’s is now permanently closed. We loved this spot and all of the neighborhood support we received and hope to see you all at our SW location and Farmer's Markets around town."
So although the tiki garden is no more, spice heads and masochists can still get their Great Balls of Fire at the Hillsdale location on SW Sunset Boulevard.
