Burnside Brewing's Ridiculous Burger
Adam Richman, the guy who hosts Man Vs. Food on the Travel Channel, is coming to Burnside Brewing on Thursday, May 14, from noon to 2 p.m., as part of the book tour for his new cookbook/restaurant guide "Straight up Tasty" (Clarkson Potter).
Fans who share Richman's fetish for macho, over-the-top foods can hit the pub to get a signed copy of the book ($30) and one of the limited number of "Ridiculous Burgers" on offer that day. The burger, which won The Hop & Vine's first Brewers Burger Brawl, is "destined to appear on an upcoming TV show," according to a press release. It's a behemoth outfitted with apricot and ginger chutney; pickled mango and jicama slaw; lobster salad; jerk spiced pork belly; Caribbean cheese spread; plantain fries; and scotch bonnet pepper aioli all on a toasted bun. Oh, and there's a burger patty in there somewhere, and a lobster claw sits on top as a garnish. You can get the book, the burger, and a beer for $50 while supplies last.
